In-Depth Look at Repertoire Collections

Presented by Elissa Milne

It's easy to get into a repertoire rut, whether you find yourself teaching the same pieces you learned when you were a student, or teaching this year's Grade 3 students the same pieces your Grade 3 students learned last year.

Finding new repertoire is often the challenge, and Elissa Milne will talk about how and where to discover your new favourites, introducing you to some fabulous new collections of material perfect for 21st century piano students, as well as taking a look at collections that have been around for a while, but you might not have met yet!

You’ll see/hear new collections of original material (pre-Baroque to present day) as well as collections of arrangements: finding the right arrangement is often harder than finding a great written-for-piano piece.

But just as important as finding great repertoire is having a strategy for incorporating much more sensational music into your teaching plans, and Elissa will be presenting ideas for making great repertoire work harder for you (and your students).
